Car Rider Reminders

Posted Date: 8/28/25 (3:54 PM)

Good Afternoon,

The last few days I have had parents call and ask questions about the car pick up line, so I thought I would share some reminders. The truth is that we have looked at about every possible way to make the car rider line move quickly, and with record breaking car rider numbers year after year, the reality is there is not much else we can change. To keep dismissal as safe and smooth as possible for everyone, please help us by following these important guidelines:

Transportation Changes – Please do not call for changes after 2:00 pm unless it’s an emergency. We’ve had an extreme increase in late calls, which causes confusion and delays. It helps if you message the teacher and call the office.
✅ Early Pick-Ups – Students should not be signed out just 5–10 minutes before dismissal, unless of emergency. Please wait for regular pick-up time so learning is not disrupted and there is no confusion late in the day.
✅ Pick-Up Line – Stay in your vehicle. For safety and efficiency, do not get out of your car in the drop-off/pick-up line. It helps a great deal for students to get in and out of the car unassisted. We encourage practicing the procedure with younger students. Please do not park and come in and pick up your students before or after school to avoid the line, unless there was a plan made a head of time with the school.
Arrival Time – We have a record number of car riders this year, with a very high number of students in the lower grades! To avoid the longest wait, we recommend arriving closer to 3:15–3:20 pm—you’ll move through the line much faster.
Buses- We do offer bus transportation for students in our district as an option for transportation to and from school.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience. Safety is always our number one priority, and your help ensures all students get home safely each day.

Sincerely,
Mr. Barger
